Welcome to Homegrown Serenity!

My name is Haley Prenant, and I am the owner of Homegrown Serenity. As I know all too well how intimate and personal this journey is, I feel obligated to share a bit of myself with you! Motivated by my own personal experience and the testimony of others, I am here to do everything I can to support you in any way you need.

As a young, single mother who experienced both medical and emotional challenges during pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period, I was inspired to be a guiding light and make a difference in that journey for others. I am CAPPA trained for both Labor and Postpartum Doula roles. Authenticity, Empathy and Inclusivity are some of my top values in life, and my top priorities when supporting families. I practice trauma informed care, and am willing to support families in meeting their needs, whatever they may be.

With a lifetime of experience working with families and children, I have found this work to be my true calling. Upon graduating High School early at age 17 and heading to college, I took my experience at home as 1 of 9 siblings, and consistently provided services as a babysitter and a nanny; helping clients with children of all ages. I have always respected and appreciated families trusting me with their care and welcoming me into their homes.

In past years I have worked with mostly adolescent and some adult persons with disabilities. I very much enjoyed my time with those clients, supporting them in their pursuit of achieving their goals. Upon having my daughter after nasty bout of Hyperemesis Gravidarum and a hiatus from school, I decided to go back to college. Wanting to teach my daughter American Sign Language before she could speak, I decided to take a class at my college. This set me on a path in which my academic studies were solely dedicated to learning ASL. In a need to support my family I had to make the decision to leave school and focus on my career as a Birth and Postpartum Doula.

These lived experiences have formed me into the person and professional that I am today. With these skills in addition to my 7+ years of professional experience working with families, I am able to be a valuable resource and asset to my clients and their families in ways I otherwise wouldn’t be able to. The thing I love most about this work is that I get to support a variety of families, from many different backgrounds, with varied beliefs and preferences, and I get the opportunity to tailor my care to them all.

Supporting people is my greatest passion, and I have found so much joy and fulfillment in what I do. Through many personal trials I have been able to evolve and be confident in the choices I make to do what is best for myself and my family. I have found serenity in trusting my body, my soul and my instincts. I would love to help you on your journey to your serenity, too.
